Stew Nelson has lived in Gooding, Idaho for almost 20 years where he and his wife raised 5 daughters. Although they have left now, they return frequently.
Stew has slowly and deliberately built up the quality of his horses over the last 30 years. The stallions were very deliberately and carefully chosen. Badgers Oak and Chics Playgun were selected because
of the strength of the maternal pedigrees and the quality of the individuals. They both have incredible dispositions and are extremely quiet horses. Badgers Oak died in 2008 leaving a great empty space in
our hearts and our program. We have 4 of his best daughters that we found cross extremely well on Chics Playgun.
Our mares are also selected carefully and represent sound minds and bodies as well as athletic and quiet individuals. We have or have had daughters of Doc's Oak, Doc O'Lena, Docs Remedy, Freckles Playboy,
Zack T Wood, Smartest Little Pep and of course Badgers Oak among others.
Stew makes a living in Farming, Ranching, Advertising and Real Estate Businesses. He occasionally shows in the NRHA affiliates of Intermountain and Idaho when time permits.
Stew is fluent in Spanish and familiar with the customs, traditions and culture of Spain, Mexico and Latin America, as he has traveled extensively in those areas working with horses and agricultural products.
He has written articles, put on handling clinics and taught seminars on the genetics of Quarter Horses in Latin America. He has bought, sold and exported numerous horses to Latin America and still consults
with clients and other exporters. Stew is very knowledgeable about the genetics, pedigrees, histories and current bloodlines of the American Quarter Horse.
