Stew Nelson

Stew Nelson Lives in Gooding Idaho with his wife and 5 daughters, although 1 is now married and 3 are away at college. Stew has slowly and deliberately built up the quality of his horses over the last 30 years. The stallions currently standing, Badgers Oak and Chics Playgun, were selected because of the strength of the maternal pedigrees and the quality of the individuals. They both have incredible dispositions and are extremely quiet horses.

Stew makes a living in the Real Estate Business and does some Farming and Ranching along with this Quarter Horse and Breeding business. He actively shows in the NRHA affiliates of Intermountain and Idaho when time permits.

Stew is fluent in Spanish and familiar with the customs, traditions and culture of Spain, Mexico and Latin America, as he has traveled extensively in those areas working with horses and agricultural products. Mr. Nelson has written articles, put on handling clinics and taught seminars on the genetics of Quarter Horses in Latin America. Mr. Nelson is very knowledgeable about the genetics, pedigrees, histories and current bloodlines of the American Quarter Horse.
