We are very happy to welcome VELVET CHIC OLENA to our breeding operation. He comes to us from Elgin, Texas and is owned by Stacy Darby.

VELVET CHIC OLENA WILL NOT BE STANDING IN IDAHO AT NELSON PERFORMANCE HORSES IN 2010

Velvet is an exciting addition to our program and is an absolutely beautiful son of SMART CHIC OLENA.

To date VELVET CHIC OLENA has a very limited number of foals.

This gray son of SMART CHIC OLENA is very typical of his sire. He is very easy going, a pretty mover, very smooth and very quiet. He stands 15hh has a small attractive head with small ears. In the show pen he exhibited very pretty circles, big stops and incredible speed changes. His colts have the same look as the sire with a very natural low head & neck, and are, early maturing.

VELVET was ridden bridless for several demonstrations and put on quite a show.

VELVETS dam, Velvetine Miss is a line-bred Easter King (4X) mare.

Velvet will stand here for the 2009 season from the end of February through June 2009.

We offer the same terms and options as with CHICS PLAYGUN.

  • On-site Breeding by AI.
  • Cooled Shipped Semen (with the first shipment included in the fee).

In 2009 his fee is $750 (which includes a $100 booking fee), or $400 at breeding and $400 at foaling, or $900 at foaling.

Mare care is $7.50 per day ($10 for nursing mares) in an outdoor pen. Group pens are available as well. We have our own ultrasound machine to expedite breeding of your mare on site. This service is included in breeding fees.

Shipped semen is shipped free for the first shipment; subsequent shipments are $150 by Fed Ex Next Day Air. Counter-to-Counter Airline Shipments are extra.
